What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Potassium citrate (slow-release tablet, powder, and tablet forms)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show which form of potassium citrate works best and is most tolerable for preventing kidney stones.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study with only 20 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It compares existing drugs, not a new breakthrough.
