Bedside vs lab: which clotting test is better for bypass patients?

NCT ID NCT00892905

First seen Jun 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at 20 patients having planned, first-time coronary artery bypass surgery to see if a quick bedside clotting test (INR and aPTT) gives the same results as standard lab tests. The goal was to check how well the two methods agree. Participants had not taken blood thinners like warfarin or clopidogrel for at least 5 days before surgery.
