NCT ID NCT00611663
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at two different ways to give pneumococcal vaccines to adults with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). One group received a prime-boost strategy (conjugate vaccine first, then polysaccharide vaccine six months later), while the other group got a placebo first and then the standard polysaccharide vaccine. The goal was to see which approach led to a stronger immune response against pneumonia-causing bacteria. The study enrolled 47 participants with stable lupus.
