New study aims to improve Post-Birth tear care

NCT ID NCT07124676

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at two different ways to classify second-degree perineal tears that happen during spontaneous vaginal birth. The goal is to see which system better predicts problems like heavy bleeding, pain, hidden muscle injury, and sexual function after delivery. About 482 women will have their tears classified using both methods and then be followed with standard check-ups, including blood tests, pain scores, and ultrasounds.
