First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested how well two different 2023-2024 updated COVID-19 vaccines (Novavax and Pfizer mRNA) protect adults from getting sick with COVID-19. About 1,188 adults who had already received at least two mRNA vaccine doses took part. Some got the Novavax vaccine, some got the Pfizer mRNA vaccine, and others chose not to get an updated vaccine. Researchers tracked COVID-19 infections and symptoms over 20 weeks to see which vaccine offered better protection.
