Chest surgery pain relief: which nerve block works best?
NCT ID NCT06685445
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at 60 adults who had chest surgery (thoracotomy) to see if combining two types of nerve blocks (erector spinae and serratus anterior) provides better pain relief than using just one. Pain scores and the need for extra pain medicine were measured over 72 hours after surgery. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to manage post-surgery pain.
