Study tests simpler heart monitor for kids in surgery
NCT ID NCT07342842
Summary
This study aimed to see if a simpler, handheld ultrasound device (USCOM) gives the same heart function readings as a standard, more complex echocardiogram machine in children under anesthesia. Researchers compared measurements from both devices in 57 healthy children right before their elective surgeries started. The goal was to understand if the simpler device could be a reliable alternative for monitoring during operations.
