First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study compared two methods of taking a liver biopsy: one using an endoscope with ultrasound (EUS) and the other using a needle through the skin (percutaneous). The goal was to see which method provides better tissue samples for diagnosing liver diseases like cirrhosis. 90 adults who needed a liver biopsy took part. The study found that both methods can work, but the EUS approach may offer advantages in certain cases.
