Could shorter hospital stays help kids with anorexia recover better?

NCT ID NCT04479683

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at whether children aged 8-13 with early onset anorexia nervosa can switch from full-time hospital care to day treatment (going home at night) after a short hospital stay. The goal is to see if day treatment works just as well for weight gain and is better for the child's school and social life. About 88 children will take part, and their progress will be tracked for one year.
