Safer scans for cystic fibrosis patients: study tests Low-Radiation options
NCT ID NCT04644471
Summary
This study compared two imaging methods for monitoring lung damage in adults with cystic fibrosis. Researchers tested whether ultra-low-dose CT scans or lung MRI could provide similar information to standard CT scans while reducing radiation exposure. The goal was to find safer ways to track lung disease progression over time without compromising accuracy.
