Egyptian study tests which colon cancer surgery works better
NCT ID NCT05421702
Summary
This study compared two different laparoscopic surgery techniques for patients with early-stage colon cancer in Upper Egypt. Researchers wanted to see if a newer, more extensive surgery called complete mesocolic excision (CME) leads to better cancer control and fewer complications than the standard conventional colectomy. The study involved 150 patients with operable colon cancer to determine which surgical approach provides better outcomes.
