Egyptian study tests if newer colon cancer surgery is better and safer

NCT ID NCT05421702

Summary

This study compared two different types of 'keyhole' surgery for patients with early-stage colon cancer in Upper Egypt. Researchers wanted to see if a newer, more extensive technique (complete mesocolic excision) leads to better cancer control and survival than the standard surgery (conventional colectomy), while also checking if it causes more complications. They tracked 150 patients to measure surgical results, cancer outcomes, and recovery details.
