First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested two different ways to treat long-lasting tailbone pain using radiofrequency ablation, a procedure that uses heat to block pain signals. Fifty adults with chronic coccydynia who hadn't gotten relief from other treatments were randomly assigned to one of two techniques. The goal was to see which method provided better pain relief and improved daily function after 3 months.
