Jail-to-Freedom: new study tests better opioid treatment for inmates

Summary

This study tests if a monthly injection of buprenorphine works better than daily tablets for people with opioid use disorder who are leaving jail. 240 adults will receive either the injection or the tablets while in jail and for 6 months after release. The goal is to see which approach reduces opioid use and relapse more effectively.
