First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study compared two types of non-invasive breathing machines (AVAPS-AE vs. S/T mode) for patients with acute respiratory failure who also had obesity or were at risk for sleep apnea. The goal was to see which machine helped resolve high carbon dioxide levels faster. The study was terminated early and only enrolled 14 participants, so results are limited.
