New study tracks Real-World mobility in amputees: walking and wheeling count

NCT ID NCT07387744

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study aims to understand how people with a leg amputation get around in their community, whether by walking with a prosthetic or using a wheelchair or scooter. Researchers will track 50 participants' movements using GPS and activity monitors for 10-21 days, along with questionnaires about quality of life and mobility confidence. The goal is to capture the full picture of community mobility, not just walking ability, to better guide rehabilitation.
