First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study aims to see if community health workers can successfully fit hearing aids using smartphone technology in low- and middle-income communities. About 90 adults with mild to severe hearing loss will be randomly assigned to receive either a smartphone-based fitting, a pre-set hearing aid, or a minimal amplification device. The goal is to improve hearing and quality of life, making hearing care more accessible.
