First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at whether nursing care based on Kolcaba's Comfort Theory can reduce pain and improve comfort in healthy, full-term newborns right after a vaginal birth. Sixty babies were included. Researchers measured pain, comfort, crying, and vital signs. The goal was to see if a comfort-focused approach can make the birth experience less stressful for newborns.
