New study tests simple tricks to make bladder cancer scopes less scary

NCT ID NCT07204301

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study tests whether simple comfort measures—like playing calming music, using visual distractions, or timing numbing gel—can reduce pain and anxiety during a bladder scope or treatment. About 378 adults with bladder cancer will be randomly assigned to receive these extras or standard care, then report their experience. The goal is to make these routine procedures more comfortable without changing medical care.
