Scientists try to 'Wake Up' immune system to fight tough colon cancers

NCT ID NCT02512172

Summary

This study tested whether adding one or two 'epigenetic' drugs could help a cancer immunotherapy (MK-3475) work for people with a hard-to-treat type of advanced colorectal cancer. It involved 27 patients whose cancer had stopped responding to standard treatments. The main goals were to see if the drug combinations were safe and if they could change the immune cells inside the tumors.
