NCT ID NCT00102011

First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tested whether a one-time colonoscopy is better than yearly stool tests for finding early signs of colorectal cancer in healthy people aged 50 to 69. About 5,000 participants were randomly assigned to one of the two screening methods. The goal was to see which approach finds more tumors and causes fewer harms.
