New tool aims to spot hidden Cancer-Causing polyps

NCT ID NCT03560037

Summary

This study tested whether a simple, disposable attachment for a colonoscope could help doctors find more flat, hard-to-see polyps called sessile serrated adenomas. Over 400 people getting routine colon cancer screening were randomly assigned to have a standard colonoscopy or one with the Endocuff Vision device attached. The goal was to see if the device improved detection of these specific polyps, which can be precursors to colon cancer.
