Ice baths put to the test: can cold plunges boost athlete recovery?
NCT ID NCT06565468
Summary
This study tested whether taking cold water baths helps college athletes recover faster and perform better after hard training. Seventy-five UCLA volleyball, football, and cross-country athletes tried two weeks of cold plunges after practice and two weeks without. Researchers measured recovery using sleep trackers, heart rate monitors, and surveys about muscle soreness and energy levels.
