First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether shivering from cold exposure can help control blood sugar levels over 24 hours in people with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. Researchers had 24 participants experience different intensities of cold-induced shivering and measured their glucose continuously. The goal was to see if shivering, like exercise, could improve insulin sensitivity and glucose management.
