Chill pill for the neck: 5-Second cold patch could ease IV pain

NCT ID NCT07253961

Summary

This study is testing if a simple, 5-second cold application to the side of the neck can reduce the pain of getting an IV needle placed in obese patients. Researchers will compare pain levels in 150 patients who either receive the cold patch or get the standard IV placement. The goal is to find a quick, non-drug method to make this common procedure more comfortable for people who often experience more pain from it.
