Chill out: Fridge-Stored breathing tubes may ease Post-Surgery sore throat

NCT ID NCT05834179

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 24, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether cooling the breathing tube (endotracheal tube) in a fridge before use could reduce sore throat after surgery. 116 adults having elective surgery took part. The researchers checked for sore throat and its severity one and four hours after the tube was removed. The goal was to see if this simple, drug-free method could help patients feel better after surgery.
