New brain training shows promise for schizophrenia patients

NCT ID NCT02879604

Summary

This study tested whether group-based cognitive training helps people with schizophrenia manage thinking problems that affect daily life. 218 patients with schizophrenia for less than 10 years were randomly assigned to receive either the cognitive training program or their usual treatment. Researchers compared costs and measured whether the training improved patients' ability to function in everyday situations over 12 months.
