Brain training boosts stroke rehab at home, small study finds

NCT ID NCT06555302

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether adding cognitive (brain) exercises to standard arm/hand therapy done at home could help stroke survivors think better, use their arm more in daily life, and feel less depressed. Twenty adults who had a stroke at least 30 days earlier took part in an 8-week tele-rehabilitation program with 13 sessions. Researchers measured changes in thinking, daily function, and mood before and after the program.
