Could a cup of cocoa counteract the harm of sitting?
NCT ID NCT07265869
Summary
This study tested whether drinking a cocoa beverage rich in natural plant compounds (flavanols) could help protect blood vessel function during long periods of sitting. Twenty healthy adults aged 65 and over drank either a high-flavanol or low-flavanol cocoa drink before sitting for two hours. Researchers measured blood vessel dilation and blood pressure to see if the flavanol-rich drink could prevent the negative effects of sitting.
