Cocoa drink may shield aging arteries from sitting damage
NCT ID NCT07265869
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a cocoa drink rich in flavanols could protect blood vessel function and blood pressure in healthy older adults (65+) during 2 hours of sitting. Twenty participants drank either a high-flavanol or low-flavanol cocoa before sitting, and their artery health was measured. The goal was to see if flavanols could prevent the usual decline in blood vessel function from prolonged sitting.
