Breathing breakthrough: two surgical techniques face off for windpipe repair

NCT ID NCT07303673

Summary

This study compared two different surgical methods to help patients with a narrowed windpipe (subglottic or tracheal stenosis) breathe better. Thirty patients of all ages received either a newer technique using radiofrequency energy (Coblation) or a more established procedure involving tissue grafting. Researchers measured how wide the airway became after surgery and how much it improved patients' breathing difficulties.
