Breathing breakthrough: two surgeries face off for windpipe repair

NCT ID NCT07303673

Summary

This study compared two surgical approaches to treat narrowed windpipes (subglottic stenosis) in 30 patients of all ages. Researchers tested whether a newer technique using coblation-assisted dilation works as well as an established procedure that involves removing scar tissue and grafting new tissue. The goal was to determine which method better improves airway opening and breathing quality for patients.
