Simple blood test could warn of heart surgery dangers

NCT ID NCT06839027

Summary

This study aims to see if measuring the difference in carbon dioxide (CO2) between artery and vein blood, along with lactate and oxygen levels, can predict who will have serious complications after heart bypass surgery. Researchers will follow 130 adults undergoing elective coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. The goal is to find better early warning signs to help doctors prevent organ damage after surgery.
