Simple blood test could warn of heart surgery dangers
NCT ID NCT06839027
Summary
This study aims to find better ways to predict serious complications after heart bypass surgery. Researchers will measure three blood markers (CO2 gap, lactate, and oxygen levels) in 130 patients undergoing elective surgery. The goal is to see if these markers can identify patients at risk for organ failure or death sooner than current methods, allowing for earlier treatment.
