New hope for protecting transplant kids from dangerous virus

NCT ID NCT07199465

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called letermovir can safely prevent cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections in children who have received kidney transplants. Researchers want to understand how the drug moves through children's bodies and what side effects it might cause. The study includes 40 children under 18 years old who weigh less than 40kg (about 88 pounds) and are recovering from kidney transplant surgery.
