New strategy aims to shield myeloma patients from dangerous virus during treatment

Summary

This study tests whether the drug letermovir can prevent serious CMV infections in people with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma who are being treated with elranatamab. CMV is a common virus that can cause severe illness in patients with weakened immune systems. The study will enroll 40 adults who have had CMV before and will monitor them during their cancer treatment.
