Kidney transplant study tests best way to stop dangerous virus
NCT ID NCT07430683
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to prevent a common and serious viral infection (CMV) in people who receive a kidney transplant from a living donor. It compares giving a preventive antiviral drug to everyone versus closely monitoring patients and only giving the drug if the virus is detected. The goal is to control the infection while minimizing side effects from the medication.
