Doctors test best defense against Post-Transplant virus
NCT ID NCT07430683
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to prevent dangerous CMV infections in people who receive a kidney from a living donor. It compares giving a preventive medicine (valganciclovir) to all patients versus closely monitoring patients and only treating them if the virus is detected. The goal is to see which strategy better protects patients from infection while minimizing side effects.
