Two-Drug attack on blood cancer aims to free patients from daily pills

Summary
This study is testing if starting with a stronger drug (ponatinib) for 6 months, then switching to a standard drug (imatinib), can help people with a type of blood cancer called CML. The goal is to get the cancer under such good control that some patients might eventually be able to safely stop taking medication. The trial will enroll 170 adults newly diagnosed with CML to see if this approach is safe and effective.
