Smart insulin pump trial aims to ease diabetes burden in cystic fibrosis

NCT ID NCT05562492

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether a hybrid closed-loop insulin system (an automated pump and continuous glucose monitor) can help people with cystic fibrosis-related diabetes keep their blood sugar in a healthy range better than standard insulin therapy. About 128 participants aged 16 and older will use either the closed-loop system or their usual insulin with a glucose monitor for 26 weeks. The goal is to see if the smart system increases time in target blood sugar range and reduces diabetes management burden.
