Could a common antibiotic replace a risky one in heart surgery?

Summary
This study looks at whether clindamycin, an antibiotic, can be used instead of vancomycin to prevent infections in people having heart surgery with a heart-lung machine. Many patients are allergic to standard antibiotics, and vancomycin can be hard to use and cause side effects. The study will measure clindamycin levels in the blood during surgery to see if it stays high enough to fight bacteria. About 25 adults will take part.
