Are your clear aligners leaking plastic into your body?

NCT ID NCT06934603

Summary

This study aims to find out if wearing clear aligners for orthodontic treatment increases the amount of microplastics in a person's body. Researchers will collect saliva and urine samples from 150 patients before and after they start aligner treatment to measure plastic particles. The goal is to understand potential exposure, not to treat any condition.
