Tongue-Side attachments may prevent ugly white spots during clear aligner treatment
NCT ID NCT07368296
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether placing clear aligner attachments on the tongue side of teeth instead of the front reduces white spot lesions (early cavities). Fifty-two adults with mild to moderate crowding were randomly assigned to get attachments on either the front or tongue side. Researchers measured changes in tooth mineral loss and plaque buildup. The goal is to find a simple way to keep teeth healthier during orthodontic treatment.
