New combo aims to keep leukemia in check for older patients
NCT ID NCT01515527
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether a combination of three drugs—cladribine, low-dose cytarabine, and decitabine—can help control acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) in patients aged 60 and older (or younger if not fit for standard chemo). The goal is to keep the disease from coming back, not to cure it. Up to 160 participants will receive the treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
