Blood cell counts may reveal clues about autoimmune diseases

NCT ID NCT05528809

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looked at whether certain cells found in the blood (circulating epithelial and endothelial cells) could help doctors understand Sjögren's syndrome and scleroderma. Researchers measured these cells in 40 women with either condition. The goal was to see if the number of these cells reflects disease activity and could serve as a biomarker. This was an observational study, not a treatment trial.
