Engineered immune cells take aim at lupus kidney damage

Summary
This early study tests a new treatment called CHT105 for people with lupus nephritis that hasn't responded to standard therapies. CHT105 uses donor immune cells engineered to target and destroy the faulty immune cells driving the disease. Fourteen adults will receive a single infusion after preparatory chemotherapy and be followed for up to 15 years to check safety and kidney response.
