Simple taping or pressure may ease chronic back pain
NCT ID NCT07425301
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether adding kinesiology taping or ischemic compression to standard physiotherapy helps people with chronic low back pain. 102 adults with back pain for at least 12 weeks were split into three groups. Over three weeks, researchers measured changes in pain and spine movement. The goal is to see if these simple add-on techniques offer extra relief.

- kinesiology taping and ischemic compression therapy
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that adding these simple techniques to standard physiotherapy provides better pain relief and mobility for people with chronic low back pain.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, completed study with no blinding, so results may be biased. The short three-week follow-up does not show long-term benefits.
