Can a mineral pill fade dark skin patches and help Teens' metabolism?
NCT ID NCT07371169
Summary
This study tested whether a daily chromium picolinate supplement could reduce the severity of dark, velvety skin patches (acanthosis nigricans) and improve the body's response to insulin in adolescents. For 24 weeks, 90 teens with both conditions took either the chromium supplement or a placebo pill. Researchers measured changes in the skin's appearance and blood markers of insulin resistance to see if the supplement was effective and safe.
