New program aims to curb HIV among opioid users by combining prevention and addiction care

Summary

This study tests whether a program that includes HIV self-testing, quick access to HIV prevention pills (PrEP), and addiction treatment (MOUD) plus peer coaching helps people who inject opioids stay on these medications. About 284 participants will be randomly assigned to the program or usual care. The goal is to increase HIV prevention and treat opioid use disorder.
