First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if a supplement called chondroitin sulfate is safe for newborns with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a severe gut infection. It planned to compare babies who got the supplement with those who got a placebo, looking at survival, need for surgery, and long-term development. However, the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled, so no results are available.
